Australian Shareholders Association Webinar
Nicole Kidd and Simon Davies recently presented to Australian Shareholders Association members on the role of real estate private credit...
I was born and raised in New Zealand and studied Accounting and Economics at Auckland University of Technology. My lending career started at Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) where I was the Property Management Co-ordinator for a year and a half and then a Senior Associate in Property Finance. My speciality was commercial borrowers and loan exposures ranging from $1m to $30m which has set me up perfectly for working with Corval Avenue.
Like thousands of Kiwis before me, I caught the travel bug and hopped across the ditch to Australia. I arrived in early 2020 and joined Corval Avenue (at that time the business was still called RF Eclipse). I initially focused on the operational aspects of the business, shepherding deals from credit approval through to settlement. In 2022 I transitioned into a Credit Analyst role and now have been promoted to Origination Analyst, where I manage relationships with new and existing clients and oversee the entire lifecycle of loans from initial client meetings to financial close, draw-downs for construction loans and final repayment.
It has been a whirlwind four years at Corval Avenue, but I’ve seen the full cycle – historic low interest rates, developments impacted by extreme weather and covid lock-downs and now, the sharpest rate rise cycle in history. I pride myself on offering our borrower clients exceptional service and I am a very knowledgeable on how to best structure transactions. I most enjoy meeting clients and going out to see their developments. Ultimately, my career goal is to become an originator / business development manager.
Outside of work hours, I enjoy travelling to different parts of Australia. Recently, I have been heading back to New Zealand for a number of weddings but my next Australian destination is Noosa and swimming with the whales at Ningaloo Reef is on my bucket list.
